Rivers are one of the natural resources whose existence is often used by humans for various purposes, including for the provision of irrigation water, raw water, industry, transportation and others. As stated in the law on water resources No. 7 of 2004, the implementation of utilization must be carried out continuously and comprehensively.
Sedimentation makes rivers also often cause problems for humans, including when river water overflows or river water levels are higher than desired by the people around the river environment or in general terms it is known as having caused flooding in land around rivers especially through urban areas that are quite densely populated
The results of sediment calculations at Way Lela obtained a volume of 2142 m3 and when compared with a sediment volume of 1328 m3 it needs serious attention from the relevant agencies, this is because the sediment capacity is close to the maximum.
