Abstract

This study analyzes the vibration level of the SPERRE X-Range Air Compressor Unit BLA 901 at the PLN PLTMG 30 MW Ambon Peaker using the overall vibration velocity RMS parameter. Measurements were conducted over a 10-day period, from June 23 to July 2, 2026, at five measurement points and in three directions: horizontal, vertical, and axial, resulting in a total of 150 measurement data points. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, linear regression, trend analysis, and projection up to the 15th day. The measurement results showed that the highest average vibration level occurred at the T3-NDE point in the vertical direction, with a value of 6.144 mm/s, while the highest maximum value was 6.430 mm/s. All measurement point and direction combinations exhibited an increasing tendency based on the linear regression slopes. The highest slope, 0.0517 mm/s/day, was obtained at T3-NDE in the horizontal direction, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.7846. The highest projected vibration level on the 15th day was 6.597 mm/s at T3-NDE in the vertical direction. Based on the evaluation guideline values for the frame (top) measurement location specified in ISO 20816-8:2018, seven measurement point and direction combinations were classified as Zone A and eight as Zone B, while none were classified as Zone C or Zone D. The results provide an initial quantitative baseline of the vibration level of Compressor BLA 901 and indicate that T3-NDE, particularly in the vertical direction, requires greater attention during subsequent vibration monitoring. The regression and projection results are used as indicators of short-term mathematical trends and are not intended to predict failure time or compressor service life.
